Figure "a" shows bending of the legs.
Figure "b" shows rising on half-toe.
Figure "c" shows sliding.
Figure "d" shows springing.
Figure "e" through "h" shows how bending motion is at the beginning, middle or end of a step.
Figure "e" shows bending of the left leg before right leg motion starts.
Figure "f" shows bending of the left leg as the right leg motion starts.
Figure "g" shows bending of the left leg at the conclusion of the weight-transferance to the right leg.
Figure "h" shows bending of the left leg, with springing of the left leg (a "hop"), followed by a step forward on the right foot with the right foot sliding.
Figure "i" shows a circular leg motion in preparation for a backward step.
Figure "j" shows a circular leg motion in preparation for a forward step.
Figure "k" shows a beat prior to a step forward.
Figure "l" shows a beat behind, then in front, before stepping forward.
Figure "m" shows a waving step.
Figure "n" shows a waving of the heel.

Figure "p" shows the heel of the right foot crossing over and touching the heel of the left foot to create a beaten step.
Figure "q" shows the heel of the right foot crossing over and touching the ankle of the left foot to create a beaten step.
